Basar is well connected by rail. We had a family trip all the way from Bangalore to Basar, which was a very exciting trip. There are couple of trains from Bangalore to Hyderabad. We caught a special train from Bangalore to Kacheguda (one of the stations in Hyderabad). We reached Kacheguda at around 4:00 am. We got refreshed in the waiting room and caught the inter-city express at Kacheguda station at 7:15 am and reached Basar at around 11:30 am. Don't search for this train in the http://www.irctc.co.in/, as you can reserve only AC tickets for this train. You just need to buy the ticket and get into the train.
From Basar railway station, we caught a sharing auto to the temple. Interestingly they charged us a reasonable amount of Rs 5/- per person. As the temple remains closed fro
m 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, we reached by 12:00 pm. We got Akshrabhyasam for my son done. They charged around Rs 50/- for the pooja. There is a special Akshrabhyasam also for which they charge around Rs 500/- and is done in front of the Goddess Saraswati.
